From a Marketwire press release:
Fallsview Casino is teaming up with Playboy to host an exclusive party on Thursday, June 10, 2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world-famous Playboy Clubs and iconic Playboy Bunny. The Niagara Falls event is one of the 50 global parties that Playboy is hosting to celebrate this milestone; other host cities include Johannesburg, Hong Kong, Cancun and Chicago.
The casino’s Grand Hall will be transformed to look and feel like an upscale, chic Playboy Club. Event attendees will dance and party alongside 30 Playboy Bunnies and four Playboy Playmates until the early morning hours.

I tweeted on Saturday that I was up on the Niagara SkyWheel. While on the ride, I took a couple of pictures on the work going on behind it. The “teepee” (that’s what a friend of mine called it) hasn’t changed much, but there is lots of other work going on at the site. The word is that it is a new mini-putt course with a large volcano (see here, here, here, and here).

From the Niagara Falls Review:
Niagara remained Ontario’s most popular spot for gambling in 2009 despite drops in revenue, the number of gamblers and employees at Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, according to Ontario Lottery and Gaming figures for the last three months of the year.
“We continue to generate substantial revenue for the province,” said OLG spokesman Tony Bitonti. “There was a decrease in the resort casinos by about 4.5%, quarter over quarter.”
As 2009 drew to a close and signs of an economic recovery appeared, OLG reported $333.4 million in the September-to- December period, compared to $349.1 million in the same three-month period in 2008.
Niagara’s two casinos reported gaming revenue of $153.0 million in OLG’s third fiscal quarter.
That was down about $700,000 — or nearly .5% — from the same time in 2008.
